Blueberries in Winter Hat
This hat pattern design offers options for knitting in blocks of color, stranded colorwork, duplicate stitching, or a combination of stranded colorwork and duplicate stitching, plus the option to use French Knots for the berries.
You know how to cast on, knit, purl, check gauge and you may have (or not) had some experience with stranded knitting. In this class, I’ll help you learn techniques for stranded knitting, duplicate stitching, and the making of French Knots.

Skills covered: knitting in the round, decreasing, reading a chart, stranded colorwork, techniques for holding yarn, tension, floats, tacking floats, duplicate stitching, French Knots, magic loop technique, blocking.
Materials needed:
US 6/4.0mm 16”/40cm circular needle, US 7/4.5mm 16”/40cm circular needle and 32” / 82cm or 40” /102cm circular needle.

C1: Approx 35yds/32m: (green)
C2: Approx 85yds/78m (ivory, natural, white)
C3: Approx 70yds/64m (blue or for winterberries-cranberry/red )
