When I designed this pattern for my grand-daughter, I hadn’t really thought about just how many types of gum there are in the world! My friends at the yarn shop shared their thoughts…

Sweater is worked top down with raglan shaping.
Design features MC background with four contrast colors, and options for Stripes with bobbles (Stripy Bobblegum) or Stripes without bobbles (Stripy Gum). Pattern includes options for puffy short sleeves or tapered long sleeves.
Neckband worked with 1x1 ribbing, while hem and cuffs worked in 2x2 ribbing.
Short rows increase depth at the back neck and are worked prior to raglan increases.
Sleeve stitches are picked up and knit in the round to cuff.

Tapestry needle, stitch holders or waste yarn.

Gauge: All gauges are calculated per 4” / 10 cm finished, blocked fabric. Stockinette on larger needles: 22 sts and 28 rows/rnds
2 x 2 Ribbing on smaller needles: 24 sts and 28 rnds

Suggested Yarns:
Green Mountain Spinnery Cotton Comfort (20% Organic Cotton, 80% Fine Wool); 180 yds / 165 m per 2 oz / 58 g skein.

To work long sleeves, add approximately:

C1: 8–20 yds / 8–19 m
C2: 8–10 yds / 8–10 m
C3: 18–22 yds / 17–21 m
C4: 18–32 yds / 17–30 m

Needle Size: US 6 / 4 mm and US 7 / 4.5 mm. Both needle sizes in 16” / 41 cm and 24” / 61 cm for body, and preferred method for working small circumferences (Magic Loop or DPNs) for sleeves.
Use the needle sizes that allow you to meet gauge.
