Fern and Pine Sweater

$8.00

While celebrating three generations of family time at a reunion with lots of down time, conversation with my niece happened upon sweater styles. When I asked her to choose 3 styles she liked, I was intrigued by the specific elements she enjoyed...
She was headed off for a year of study abroad, and I really wanted to send her off with a sort of “sisterhood hug”. As I designed and knit her sweater, images of Fern and Pine kept entering my mind. Fern ~ youth and growth, and Pine ~ a symbol of long life. Pretty cool symbols to embrace heading out into the world, whatever our age, and for anyone we think of as a “kindred.”
