When I think of rainbows, my mind thinks of searching the sky for rainbows and double rainbows after summer rains. As a young child, I also remember my Dad coming home from work one night with a collection of hair ribbons…a thick royal purple ribbon, a bright green grosgrain ribbon, a hot pink polka dot ribbon, a yellow ribbon with daisies, to name a few. Likely my Mom sent him on that mission as a hair brushing incentive for unruly hair. In retrospect, maybe that gift really contributed to my love of color and texture?

Who knows, but I really enjoyed my collection of rainbow ribbons. This wrap design idea spontaneously arrived in my brain, as soon as I saw a rainbow of sparkly colored yarns, and remembered my rainbow of textured ribbons. Difficulty/Skills Required: Intermediate. Long tail cast on, Knit, Purl, KFB, K2tog, SSK, I Cord bind off, YO, Blocking, Weaving in ends.

Yarn Weight: Fingering, Light Fingering, Sock.

Gauge: Stockinette: 24 sts and 34 rows = 4” / 10 cm. Gauge isn’t crucial, as it's a wrap, but being off-gauge may affect the finished size of your wrap and yarn usage.

Suggested Yarns: Yarn Cafe Creations Biscotti Sock (85% Merino Wool, 15% Nylon; 437 yds / 400 m per 100 g / 3.53 oz skein). Madrigal Yarns Pride Sparkle Mini Set (85% Superwash Merino, 13% Nylon, 2% Sparkle; 6 mini skeins approx 87 yds / 80 m per 20 g / 0.70 oz skein).
